David R. Radtke joined the firm in 1992. He graduated from Michigan State University in 1988. He received a Juris Doctor degree cum laude from Detroit College of Law in 1992. He has been a member of the Michigan State Bar since 1992. He is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit and federal district courts in Michigan and Texas.
David authored Banning the Use of Permanent Replacements: Slaying Its Opponent’s Trojan Horse, 1992 Detroit College of Law Review 881 (1992).
David is currently General Counsel to the Utility Workers Union of America (National Union). David has represented numerous private and public sector unions in litigation, contract negotiations and other matters. He has also been class counsel in numerous cases on behalf of thousands of retirees involving retiree health care benefits.
David is a member of the AFL-CIO Lawyers Advisory Panel. In the Fall of 2021, David taught Labor Law at the University of Michigan Law School and he taught Labor Law in Wayne State University’s Master’s Program for Employment and Labor Relations. While teaching David was a member of the American Federation of Teachers. Since 2019, David has been Chair of the 9th District Democratic Party.
David frequently speaks to unions on labor law issues and has made presentations at numerous conferences and seminars, including the annual Michigan State University Labor Law Conference, the Wayne State University Gottfried Labor Law Seminar, the AFL-CIO Union Lawyers Alliance conferences, and the Institute of Continuing Legal Education.
